I am seeking re-election to Place 2 on the LISD Board of Trustees. It has been an honor to serve and I am seeking your support to continue. I am a passionate educator with a proven track record. As a retired educator, I am proud to have been a part of what I believe is one of the greatest professions. Throughout my teaching career, it was a joy to help my students as they aspired to reach their academic potential, while on their journeys to become confident, responsible and productive citizens.
Education has always been valued in my household and I believe that learning is life-long. My son and daughter have advanced degrees, and my daughter went on to get a law degree. My grandson is a graduate of Texas A&M and is currently pursuing a master's degree at Georgetown University. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Family Studies at Texas Woman’s University and need only two classes to complete the coursework. I have completed all the coursework to become a Certified Family Life Educator.
I want all students to enjoy thriving, productive lives and a good education that prepares them for college or the workforce is an essential element. I am seeking re-election to serve as a member of the LISD Board of Trustees so I can continue to promote equity and excellence in education for all students, while being fiscally responsible and a strong voice for the community.
